I use it as a shaving bowl, wherein the different ridges on it trap soap and rapidly develop lather.. A bit like dimples on the golf ball to increase the turbulence.My problem with it is that those ridges are too small which has two problems in my use case.1. The brush fibres may break (I have noticed entanglement every time I whisk up lather. This maybe a problem for makeup brushes. I don't know, so I can't comment from that perspective.2. Because two sets of ridges out of the 4 sets are too small, as a consequence, the gaps between the ridges are also small. Soap gets stuck there and cleaning it is a problem. I get around this by using the larger pair of ridges to place my soap dollop.Still it is a step up from using a simple kitchen soup bowl that I was using. For that reason I give it 4 stars.I defer to other users (ladies/makeup artists) who will give the verdict on it's suitability as a makeup-brush cleaning bowl. For me, particularly for the price of ₹150, this is a fantastic product.

Just rub the brushes against the silicon mat. It easily removes all the pigment on the brush without any effort: before this I used to manually wash. Now it’s much faster and easier to clean the brushes. Wash ur brushes and prevent acne !
