I bought this to check the onboard computer oil sensor. The sensor cable is long enough and but it will not fit all the way down the dipstick tube far enough to reach the oil. I was going to return it but the vendor was kind enough to offer a refund so I have updated the stars on my review to note how above and beyond the vendor went to make sure I am happy. I would have returned it in new and unused condition, but since I will be keeping it (thanks to nice vendor!!), I decided to test it with a new bottle of oil and it came back 100%. This weekend, I am going to change my oil and test it to see if what this reads in the disposal pan matches what my truck computer says. I will update my review with the results. I really wished It worked with my vehicle! Maybe the next version will have a smaller sensor, like the flat dipstick.

use it just 2 times and it get stuck in dip stick hole . The outer cover forever buried in the engine.update :seller send a new one and working now. so far happy with purchase.

I did not use this instrument. I bought it to test for iron in in the oil of a diesel engine. The instrument does not isolate and identify iron content although the product description caused me to believe so. My problem was with the description not the instrument.

Assuming this works, it works great. When I put it on my car I was kind of worried it would get caught on something in there and it did but was easy to get back out. This will save me money on small engine stuff because I think the oil will last more than one year but time will tell. Not worth the risk but if the oil is still good what's the point in changing it. Ford didn't get rich that way and neither will I. I don't believe too much maintenance will hurt anything but on the other hand it can waste money. This device helps me decide that.

Took this out of the box and it is easy to use and understand, however I gave it a 1 star review for two reasons.1. The probe on the end needs to be smaller. When you put this down your dipstick tube it can easily catch causing it to be difficult to remove.2. THE BIGGEST ISSUE is that it's not accurate. I tried it in three different brands/types of brand new oil, and all of them came back as 90% new. Royal Purple Full Synthetic 0w-20, Mobile 1 full synthetic 5w-30, and Valvoline 5w-30.

I own a used car dealership.I use this tool daily.It lets me know what the oil quality is.Well beyond just guessing I am able to see the actual condition of the oil.
