not what good syrup is to taste like. I live where they make homemade syrup. This does not taste like syrup at all. There is no taste to it.

A cut above
Although this is much more expensive than supermarket options it is a much smoother, richer Maple Syrup than any I have had before in the UK. Therefore assuming you want to spend this much on something to put on your pancakes it is an excellent choice
